Brown to exit Internet Society
Kathryn Brown will step down as CEO of the $126M-revenue Internet Society in Reston, Va., at the end of the year.
Brown joined the Internet Society in 2014. She was previously SVP of public policy development and corporate responsibility at Verizon.
She has a law degree from Syracuse University.
AOAC searching for new leader
The $8M-revenue AOAC International in Rockville, Md., is seeking a new executive director following the departure of E. James Bradford late last year. Jonathan Goodwin, senior director of membership, human resources and administration, has been named interim executive director.
Bradford joined AOAC in 1999. He previously was director of science, mathematics and technology education programs at the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
He has a Ph.D. in higher and adult chemistry education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. AOAC is a professional scientific association that promotes chemical and biological analytical methods validation and quality measurements in the analytical sciences.
Anderson leaving NAFA
The board of directors of the $2.2M-revenue National Association for Fixed Annuities has decided to part ways with Executive Director Chip Anderson so the group could seek new leadership, the Milwaukee- Wis.-based association announced in a statement.
Anderson was named leader of NAFA in 2015 after having been a member of its board. He previously was SVP, annuity sales, for financial marketing company CreativeOne.
NAFA's board plans to have a new executive director in place by the start of the group's annual meeting June 13.
Sullivan to retire from nursing academy
Cheryl Sullivan will retire as CEO of the $3.4M-revenue American Academy of Nursing, effective May 22. Sullivan has led AAN since 2010. She previously was policy director for former Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.). Earlier, she had been vice chancellor of external affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and cabinet secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.
She has a master's degree in environmental science from Indiana University Bloomington.

Williams to head housing agency group
Stockton Williams has joined the $5M-revenue National Council of State Housing Agencies as executive director, effective April 2.
Williams is EVP of content and executive director of the Terwilliger Center for Housing at the Urban Land Institute. He previously was managing principal of real estate consultant HR&A Advisors' Washington, D.C., office and senior adviser in the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Energy.
He has a master's degree in real estate development from Columbia University.
Nelson to lead ILPA
The $5M-revenue Institutional Limited Partners Association has hired Steven Nelson as CEO. ILPA has offices in Toronto and Washington, D.C. Nelson most recently was COO of the investment adviser firm Cambridge Associates.
He has a bachelor's degree in finance from Boston College. Recruitment firm Arlington Partners International assisted in the search.

Chris Mitchell has joined the $20M-revenue IPC—Association Connecting Electronics Industries in Bannockburn, Ill., as VP of global government relations, effective March 5.
Mitchell most recently was director at the lobbying firm Prime Policy Group. He previously was legislative director for former Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.).
He has a master's degree in philosophy from San Jose State University.

The $6M-revenue International Sleep Products Association in Alexandria, Va., has hired Marie Clarke as VP for policy and government affairs. Clarke most recently was counsel in the government affairs division at the American Coatings Association.
She has a law degree from Widener University in Wilmington, Del.

The $45M-revenue National Association of Manufacturers has appointed Michael Shapiro director of strategic communications.
Shapiro most recently was communications adviser to House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.). He previously was press secretary and policy adviser to former House Chief Deputy Whip Peter Roskam (R-Ill.).

Shane McDonald has joined the $35M-revenue Business Roundtable as senior communications adviser. McDonald most recently was speechwriter for the House Ways and Means Committee.
He has a master's degree in economics from American University.

Roy Jackson has joined the $109M-revenue National Restaurant Association as EVP of development and industry relations.
Jackson most recently was SVP, business development and industry affairs for Coca-Cola North America's foodservice and on-premise division. He worked for more than 20 years at the company in a variety of leadership positions, including central zone VP and general manager for 21 states in the central U.S.
He has a master's degree in public administration from Columbia University.

The $78M-revenue NCTA—The Internet and Television Association recently added two staffers to its finance and research teams.
Mark Kulish was named SVP, finance and administration. He joins NCTA from USTelecom, where he was SVP, administration and CFO. He has an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago.
Robert Rubinovitz was appointed VP, research and analysis. He most recently was deputy chief economist at the Department of Commerce, Economics and Statistics Administration.
He has a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Eric Trabb has joined the $45M-revenue National Association of Manufacturers as SVP of business development. Trabb most recently was VP of sales and group publisher for the broadcast/video group at NewBay Media.
He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Rutgers University.

The $61M-revenue National Retail Federation has named Ellen Davis president of the NRF Foundation. She previously was executive director of the foundation, and in her new role will retain her position as SVP for research and strategic initiatives at the association.
Davis joined NRF in 2002 as manager of media relations. She became executive director of the foundation in 2012.
She has an MBA from Georgetown University.

The $39M-revenue American Veterinary Medical Association has hired Matthew Salois as director of its veterinary economics division. He succeeds Michael Dicks, who is retiring.
Salois joins the Schaumburg, Ill.-based AVMA from Elanco Animal Health, where he was director of global scientific affairs and policy. He previously was chief economist and director of economic and market research for the Florida Department of Citrus.
He has a Ph.D. in applied economics from the University of Florida.

The $26M-revevnue American Association of Nurse Anesthetists in Park Ridge, Ill., recently announced three changes to its leadership structure.
Lorraine Jordan was appointed chief research, quality and policy officer. She most recently was senior director of research at the association and executive director of the AANA Foundation.
She has a Ph.D. in nursing from The Ohio State University.
Lynne Reede was named chief clinical officer. She previously was senior director of professional practice at AANA. She has a doctor of nursing practice degree from Northeastern University in Boston.
Bruce Schoneboom was appointed chief learning officer. He most recently was senior director, education and professional development at AANA.
He has a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md.

Rikki Amos has been appointed VP of program operations and development at the International Franchise Association Foundation, the education and research arm of the $18M-revenue IFA.
Amos currently is director, U.S. public affairs practice at the Public Affairs Council. She previously was director of government relations for Envision EMI, a company that runs several youth leadership programs.
She has a master's degree in communication studies from West Virginia University.

The $3M-revenue National Coffee Association in New York City has hired Mark Corey as director of scientific affairs and project management.
Corey most recently was director of product development at the Heartland Food Products Group. He previously was group leader, beverage research and development, at Keurig Green Mountain.
He has a Ph.D. in food science from the University of Georgia.

The $309M-revenue U.S. Chamber of Commerce has appointed Keith Webster as president of the group's new Defense and Aerospace Export Council.
The council has been formed to engage with domestic and international partners to strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. defense and aerospace exporters. Reporting to Webster, Ben Schwartz, who currently leads the defense and aerospace program for the Chamber's U.S.-India Business Council, will be the council's executive director.
Webster most recently was SVP for defense and aerospace at the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum. He previously spent 30 years at the U.S. Department of Defense and was director of international cooperation when he stepped down in 2017.
He has a master's degree in international relations from The Catholic University of America.
